Topic 2 OUR TOWNS

LET ME INTRODUCE MY TOWN

In January, we had been working together for four months, we knew a lot about our partners and quite a lot about our partner schools, but not much about our partners´ towns. That is why we agreed we should introduce the places where we live and study.

The French students made seven great presentations about the tourist attractions, local customs, local recipes etc. So as to keep their partners busy, they sent them puzzle “Let's discover La Provence“ -  a picture postcard of their town which turned to be quite a challenge.

The Italian students made three great presentations and two short films. The made puzzles of three objects that appeared in their presentations and their partners had to write them back and identify the object.

The Czech students didn´t give it free to their partners at all – their presentation was available only in the form of nine puzzles and then to prove that their partners did the puzzles and studied their presentation they had to answer 15 questions of a Hot Potatoes QUIZ. A short film with some attractive photos from the town of Vysoké Mýto (made in PhotoStory) was a bonus.

In the end the students of all three countries worked together on a twinspace WIKI page and filled in a chart that showed some of the similarities and differences among the three towns. You can see it here:

WHAT IS THE WEATHER LIKE IN YOUR PLACE?

Now, when we knew something about our towns – so far away one from another, we were also interested in the weather. We established a folder with the weather forecasts for the three towns and then it was easy to check on the present weather in the place where our foreign friends live. We also included a photo gallery with a few snaps showing e.g. snow in Beausset (France) on 11/2/2012.
