STORY ONE

That evening, in June, Mario, a young  man aged 26, was riding his white and red Vespa via Lungomare Catona, along the waterfront.

It was 8:30 pm, and yet a lot of tourists were still quietly sitting on the sand of the beach . Some noisy kids were playing loudly and eating ice-creams.

A couple was buying some bergamote scented souvenirs and they looked relaxed as tourists could be.

Mario looked delighted, too. He had loads of pizzas to deliver but he liked his job and the pizzeria he worked for was reputed for its toppings and also because Mario was a good fun.

He was busy because the Regina, the local football club was playing tonight at the Granillo Stadium.

He turned right into via Collonna Regina and then left into via Polimeni. His clients had a lovely flat in via Fontanella.

He was driving pretty fast because he wanted to listen to the match on his radio but as he was arriving at number 6 , he braked abruptly.

He couldn't believe his eyes.........

He couldn't believe his eyes, there was a wonderful horse in front of him, on the horse there was  a guy wearing  a red jumper, Mario approached to him and asked:<> the guy said:<><>the guy:<> Mario delivered the pizzas. they crossed to Via Polimeni, they arrived in Via Carrubara, crossed Via Lungomare abd went to Via Vallelunga, in this Via there was a riding stable, they entered, there were a lot of horses, the most wonderful was Fulmine, with  a black fur, , he was very beautiful. Francesco got down, handed the reins, he parked his Vespa and went on Fulmine, the riding horse is very funny!

Mario and Francesco went to Mr. Santisi, Catona's vet, who invited the guys to eat the traditional dish, maccheroni with tomato sauce.

Mario, Francesco and Mr. Santisi and her wife watched the match of Reggina on TV, the team won two at one.

It was late and Mario returned to his house. Then after he started to love animals, he liked this adventure and every Sunday he returned to Santisi's riding stable.

The front door was wide open. "Very Strange" thought Mario. He parked his Vespa and entered. Everything seemed in order, nothing out of place, like a hous should be,but just in a corner there was a man.

Mario knew immediately that was not an inhabitant of yhe house, but rather a...thief. He had a bag in his hand,,where he had all the silverware from the window.

The elderly owner of the house was gagged, tied to a chair. She tried to speak, but without any success. Mario motioned her to be quite, and called the police, who arrived in a moment and arrested the thief.

The old lady invited Mario to dinner, had a wonderful surprise:the dining room's wall was studded with a poster of Reggina. The boy remembered the match. But he was blocked by the old lady, who invited him into the dining room and offered him (as a reward) the delicious pizza. She was Antonio Barillà's grandmother,a young Reggina player from Catona.

Mario and the lady stayed up late, listening to the match...and Reggina won! Later, the boy was awarded a special medal by the police, and more...with an annual season ticket at the Granillo stadium,to watch all the maches that his favourite team would have played.

......Suddenly the lights in the street turned off. He heard a strange noise, like a wood broken off,and something like this. You can imagine how Mario felt in that moment,he had the impression that in the air there were some ghosts and spirits and all around it was dark.

After 5 endless minutes of fear,Mario saw his friends that were laughing. He was very relieved, but then ,he became angry and disappointed.Yes, his friends had organized that joke in a bad taste .To apologize with him they had already booked a beautiful dinner at the "Number One" restaurant.Mario smiled immediately and was happy. He went to deliver his pizzas and at 9.00p.m. he has the date with his friends. You  think that the story finishes here, but not yet.

When he arrived at the restaurant , that is near the seafront, the surprises were not finished yet! At the table with his friends waiting for him there was a footballer player of Reggina's team,he couldn't believe  his eyes, but he was really Antonio Barillà,the only footballer from Catona. He wasn't playing because he had been banned for a week turn.So they had a delicious dinner, tasting lasagne, some good grilled swordfish,a bergamot cake, watching the Reggina's match on tv.

Ending N. 4

Suddenly Mario saw a box near the pavement. He saw something moving. He got off his vespa and approached. He opened the box and saw two adorable kittens that probably had been abandoned. He did not see anyone nearby. He took the box and brought with him. Being a bit late, he ran towards the pizza's customers, delivered them the pizzas and  went home.

There he called her friend Alessandra and told what happened,so at last he forgot about Reggina match!

The girl went to visit him and together they fed the kittens, they prepared the flyers. Next day Mario and Alessandra took them to the vet who told  they were fine.

Mario, however, was very busy with his pizza work and he was never at home. Alessandra studied hard and could not take care also of the kittens. They did not know what to do!

Mario remembered of a friend who had always been passionated about animals and had a large garden. He called Giovanna. She immediately ran to Mario's and was fascinated by these kittens that seemed to ask for help. Giovanna decided, therefore, to bring them home, Mario was very happy. Since then, every night, when he finishes working he goes to visit Giovanna, and even his two  friends. He always brings a pizza with anchovies to feed the kittens, too.
