STORY TWO
A mystery at Eagle Mountains
It was the end of the school year, by the end of June and before leaving school, a group of teenagers decided to spend a week end together in Eagle-Mountains, not far from Vysoke Mito.
That evening, they kissed their parents good bye , and they went to Town square where they had planned to meet together at 6PM.
When Karôlinà arrived near the square, she could see that a big white and green Iveco bus was still there, she recognized it because there was of the painting of St Laurence’s Church on one side , and on the other side there was the Plague Column.
The bus driver was outside his bus waiting for the teenagers to arrive. He was relaxed.
A group of girls was talking happily whereas some boys were checking their bag packs on a bench of the square.
The atmosphere was joyful and because everybody was ready to go, they got up into the car and they left towards the mountains.
The car started soon after and all of them looked for a last time at the magnificent limes trees of the square. Two hours later, the car stopped for a while. Teenagers got out and had snacks and drinks .But, when they wanted to got back up , they realized that the Bus driver had disappeared ...

They waited for an hour. They thought that the driver would come back. But nobody arrived. Ksaid: “I know a shorter way to the Eagle Mountains. We must go over the forst.” All of them agreed. They went for about two hours when suddenly one of them said: “Threre are some clothes! Let´s go there!”they found out that it was the driver´s shirt. And there was also a message on a piece of paper. It said: PLEASE, HELP ME. The girls started to shout. But the boys kept cool head. Eventually all of them went to look for the driver. After some time they found him near a cave. He looked dead. |

The bus was locked. They went around the bus and found out that on its side, instead of the original picture of the Plague column there was a picture of a church with an old door. It even had an ancient key that was real.. they unlocked the door and entered the church. Karolina went first. It was very dark inside so they lit some candles. They went down the corridor. At the end of the corridor there was a big round hall. And in the middle there was a round table. They saw many bus drivers around the table and all of them were asleep. Karolina looked for their driver. In the end she found him. They wanted to wake him up but the driver started to snore even more. So they gave it up and went up the corridor towards the door. The candles went out and so it was very difficult to walk. When they came to the door, it was closed and locked again. |

The bus was closed but everything was inside the bus. Karolina said that she knew where the hostel was. All of them started to walk into the forest. It was cloudy and the sky was dark. They chose Karolina to be the leader of the group. They walked for about an hour when some of them started to feel tired. Suddenly the compass and their watches went crazy. The hands of their watches started to rotate around the axis. The group became scared and they stopped walking. After two hours they were really frightened, embarraced and exhausted and no wonder they fell asleep.when they woke up, they saw a plague column in front of them. Jack climbed up the column and sai: “There is a church!” the group of young people came to the church and saw something terrible ... the dead bus driver. His hands pointed to the west. Suddenly they saw a terrible small and ugly thing. It was a monster squirrel.everybody stareted to run away but the squirrel attacked them. The teens ran very fast but all the trees and stones around them started to move. They heard a vicious laughter. In the shadow of some rocks they saw a goblin. He was small and hairy with big eyes. |

They came closer......They were scared to death! They had never seen a dead man before! It was so horrible!
Petr , the bus-driver looked so strange. What could we do? And it was so scorching outside!
One of the boys tried to touch his chest and he told us that he could hear a weak beat. So, Petr wasn’t dead!!! But he was so weak!
The boys called the girls who ran to see the miracle .
What had happened to him to be in such a terrible state?
Katrina gave Petr some fresh water to drink and soon after the driver started to feel a little better . He was breathing with difficulty, though.
Katrina called 999 and a helicopter arrived very quickly and took Petr to the nearest hospital .
A few hours later, another bus-driver arrived and they could go back home safely.
They learnt that Petr had had a heart attack and that they had probably saved his life.

They were trapped. It was so dark and so terrifying.
They were wearing light clothes and they were getting really cold.
They had to find a solution to get out of here very quickly. They decided to go back to the room where the drivers were sleeping because it was clear.
They could hear that all of them were snoring heavily. Pavel, their driver had turned into “the Sleeping Beauty”. But none of them was the “Prince Charming”!!!! So…
With a little bit of candle, Katrina came close to neck. She wasn’t sure. She couldn’t discern what it was… It looked like a… no, no it wasn’t possible! It was her imagination… or maybe not!
It was a wart. She touched it slowly. It was dark and cold and… in plastic! Incredible! Yes! She wasn’t dreaming. It was a PLUG!!!!
Pavel was not a real man but a robot and he needed some new battery to come to life again.
The boys immediately looked for some electricity in the room. They were stupid with their candles! There was electricity somewhere.
Eventually, they found a plug and a wire they hadn’t seen before and they plugged in their driver who woke up rapidly and looked at them with a smile.
When he was completely awake, he got a big key out of his pocket and off they went together.

They were absolutely terrified .The goblin was running faster than them and they were out of breath. One of the girls slipped on a stone and fell . Her leg hurt and she started to scream.
The Goblin stopped next to her. The girl could see that he had 2 long pointed ears, only 2 big and long teeth like a vampire and he had a terrible mouth! No doubt, he was going to eat her up, she was going to die , there in the middle of nowhere.
She closed her eyes and waited..........She felt so sad. Had her friends abandoned her? Was she alone and prisoner of this creature ? Why didn't they come to help her?
Her leg was hurting more and more ..... She couldn't think anymore .If only her best friend could be there. She always knew what to do . For sure , she would help her but .....
The Goblin opened his large mouth and suddenly she remembered that in one of her favourite video-games , a boy hit the forehead of a Goblin with a stone . So, she gathered her strength and threw the stone onto the Goblin and hit him . He screamed and she screamed so loudly that ..........she woke up. ! She was sweating.
She had made a terrible nightmare .
The teenagers, in the bus ,clapped their hands and she promised not to spend so much time playing video-games especially the ones with the Goblins.......
